Creating art out of the rubbish found in the oceans and streets of Bali is a powerful way of making a statement about this issue while creating something beautiful from the discarded. While visiting R.O.L.E Kari Hall ran a series of workshops with the Bali Wise students doing just this. Fascilitated by Kari the students picked rubbish off the streets and then made wonderful works of art with it.
They also went onto the beach and created art out of the rubbish right there on the sand. Public art has a great impact, it creates interest, conversations, awareness and works to promote change. Kari is an artist from Melbourne, Australia who is passionate about creating change through creativity. Making art with rubbish is something she does with students in her classes in Australia and doing the same in Bali felt like a great way that she could offer her gifts and inspire and educate others. Making a difference one art piece at a time, one plastic bag out of the ocean at a time. For info on classe and workshops Kari can be contacted at www.colourdance.net
