Red Cargo – Air Asia | Team Bonding | Topic Think Global Act Local – Saturday, March 16th 2019.
As part of their team building, Red Cargo Air Asia participated in Think Global Act Local at ROLE Foundation. Forty eight staffs from different countries working and learning together at Zero Waste to Oceans – Community Environment & Skills Center.
After opening speech by Mike O’Leary, the founder of ROLE Foundation about the story and its vision of ROLE for the environment and empowering coastal communities in Bali. The participants then divided into 4 groups. Two groups went to build organic wall and 2 other groups visiting each stations. After refreshments they swapped.
Organic wall is a wall that composed mostly from organic materials such as straw, soil, limestone, and water. The participants built a section of wall at ROLE Foundation for about an hour before moved to other stations.
All the participants learned about waste separation and waste management in Indonesia, making solid compost using the lasagna method, making seedling and seed balls, companion planting and had a small quiz on herbs names, observing snail farming and tasting the snails cooking, tasting the traditional herbal drink of Indonesia (jamu), traditional weaving and natural dyes, where they made their own bandanas using Ketapang and turmeric for yellow, soap upcycling and paper recycling.
After refreshments the groups then swapped activities to make sure that all of them participate in the small workshop in each stations. The team bonding ended with lunch and after de briefing, all of ROLE Foundation team and Red Cargo Asia took photo together.
