Do you know that only about half of the waste generated in Bali that has been well managed? This means that 33,000 tons of plastic waste ends up at sea every year!
Indonesia produces around 130,000 tons of plastic and solid waste every day and is the second-largest plastic polluter in the world. Even though the government of Bali already issued a regulation regarding the plastic ban, waste disposal and management still become the key factors behind the problem. The sea is a place for many creatures to live and sadly all the waste ended up there as their final destination.
We might know the roots of the waste problem of Bali, but it should not be stopping us from doing the smallest act! Let’s start our 2020 by doing the simplest act we can do. R.O.L.E. Foundation invites you to clean our beach together. This is also part of our Zero Waste to Oceans’ awareness campaign and our commitment to beat plastic pollution.
Please bring your own reusable water bottle and trash bag to collect the waste and join our clean up at Sawangan Beach (next to Hilton Bali Resort, Nusa Dua). Make yourself comfortable, wear your hats or even shades! The cleanup will start at 8 AM sharp.
In the afternoon after cleanup, get to know R.O.L.E. Foundation more as we will be opening our Eco Park for you! Explore many hands-on activities and connect yourself with people who have the same vision like yours in the welcoming grounds of ours!
