As part of their learning activity in study trip to Bali, thirty three students from The British School Yangon from Myanmar participated in our Waste to Wonder training at Zero Waste to Oceans – Community Environment and Skills Center.
After introduced about R.O.L.E. Foundation, each students got an eco-passport sponsored by DPG Nusa Dua then divided into three groups consist of 10 to 11 students to go to different stations. First they went to natural dyes station to learned about natural dye and apply it for tie dye. After that they moved to with their group to explore and learned in different station. The interactive training include awareness on deforestation and marine catastrophe because of human activities, paper recycling, soap upcycling, training on waste management, organic and non-organic waste, 7 types of plastics, 3R principle, composting, seed bank, seedling, companion planting, Indonesian traditional herbal drink (jamu) and traditional weaving.
During refreshment period they enjoyed lemon grass tea, tropical fruits and traditional cakes. All of them were happy to do something they’ve never done before like paper and soap recycling.
